Serra de Monchique

Enjoy a full day's walk in the quiet and green Serra de Monchique. Feel the warm sun in your face and the scent of wild flowers, eucalyptus and pine trees. Walk on centuries old donkey tracks and goat paths making an amazing walk. On this hiking tour you experience a bright coloured side of the Algarve.

The tour will take you along orange groves, fig and almond trees, eucalyptus and cork forest, arbutus trees (medronheiro) and gives you great picturesque views on the valleys. Walking is a one of the best ways to truly get to know the area without damaging its environment.

We meet at the Galp petrol station at the entrance of Monchique. here you can easily park, have a coffee or use the toilet before we leave.

We start walking the forest tracks around the mountain village and we also visit old convent which was built in 1634 and the typical daily market in town.

In the afternoon the guide will continue the walk on the slopes on the southern side. 

A moderate level of fitness is required to fully enjoy this day.

6 hour activity: 60 euro pp. Privat tour for 2 persons. Every extra participant: 9,50 euro.
