4x4 Mountain trip
Off the beaten track into the heart of the Algarve for a day of views, fun and excitement. Travelling in a jeep we go up hills and down dales, crossing streams and traversing meadows. Enjoy the spectacular scenery of an area almost untouched by time. Our journey will take us along winding earthen tracks to some of the most fascinating places in the Algarve.
In tiny white-washed villages where time seems to have come to a stand still you can see some of the old regional customs still in practise. For example we will visit a small local distillery where the brave can taste medronho. This is a very potent distilled drink coming from the berries from the Arbutus Unedo, medronho, tree. A little easier to taste is the delicious local honey produced in the old way.
Impressive mountain views can be enjoyed all day and a typical lunch is taken in local restaurant.
